Elder Joel Lester Sims, Sr.

Pastor – M. Div.

Pastor Joel L. Sims, Sr. has served in the ministry for thirty plus years, and has been united in holy matrimony for forty-four years to Missionary Karen A. Sims; also, they have one daughter, three sons, and four grandchildren. Throughout the years, Pastor Sims has served with dedication and hard work; ultimately, devoting all his energy, love, obedience, and strength into serving others.

Pastor Sims, Sr. has served diligently in various capacities at the local and Jurisdictional levels of the Church Of God In Christ in Tennessee. He has faithfully served under the jurisdictional leadership of Bishop Audley King (Tennessee Second), Bishop H. Jenkins Bell (Tennessee Eastern First), Bishop W. L. Porter (Central), and Bishop James M. Scott (Tennessee Eastern Second). As a servant under Bishop James M. Scott, he was elevated to the position of financial secretary of the Tennessee Eastern Second Jurisdiction. Presently, Pastor Sims serves as an Administrative Assistant to Bishop George O. Adebango in the Pakistan Jurisdiction.

Pastor Sims, Sr. received various degrees from, Regents University 2014, Master of Divinity – M.Div.; Middle Tennessee State University 1996, Bachelor of Business Administration Degree; and Volunteer State community college 1994, Associate Degree.

Pastor Sims, Sr. has always retained a strong work ethic with such Jobs as Assistant Manager of Holiday Shoe Store; Sales agent with Universal Life and Family Life Insurance Company; He won a trip to the Bahamas from Universal Life; presently, he is a Partner Service Representative with Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN); In 2013 he was awarded the President’s Award For Excellence from (CBN); and presently, Pastor and Founder of Love Cathedral Ministries. Pastor Sims, Sr. believes that it is best to always be actively involved with the community and he has held Chairman of the Bordeaux Acton Community; President of the Youth department – Nashville and Clarksville district; organized and trained local church and district choirs, and a former member of Tennessee State Aristocrat of Bands.

Pastor Sims’ love and hobby will always and forever be fishing where he uses the time to hear from God to gain peace from the challenges of everyday life, which empowers him for returning to his flock with inspired, powerful, and mind blowing messages.

Karen A. Sims

Missionary

Missionary Sims has a great passion for Women’s Ministry. It is her heart’s desire to invest in young women, through prayer, Godly wisdom, and instructions. She believes Proverbs 3:5-6 lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know, recognize and acknowledge, Him and He will direct and make straight, and plan your path (AMP Bible).

Missionary Sims is married to Pastor Joel L. Sims Sr. They have one daughter, three sons, and four grandchildren. She is a graduate of Columbia State University and has an Associate Degree in nursing. She is a registered nurse in the city of Nashville, TN. Furthermore, she is a floral designer and the owner of Creative Designs by Karen Sims.

Presently, she serves in the Pakistan Jurisdiction COGIC under the leadership of Bishop George O. Adebanjo, Prelate. She serves as an Instructor and Teacher for the Pakistan Jurisdiction’s Missionary Licensing Board. Also, Missionary Sims has traveled with Bishop George O. Adebanjo, and staff to the Holy Land in Israel and to China.

Missionary Karen A. Sims is a licensed Missionary in the Church Of God In Christ. She began her walk with Christ at age 12. She was a member of the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. She served on the Usher Board and a Sunday School Teacher at age 14. She was inspired by the Holy Spirit to connect with Gospel Tabernacle Church Of God In Christ. Under the leadership of Elder Louis Caldwell, She was licensed as a Missionary at age 23.

Some of her other experiences include: Sunshine Band, Bible Band Teacher, Sunday School Chair Lady, and Sunday School Superintendent; President and Teacher for the Nashville District Missionary Board; District Missionary under Superintendent Larry Britton; President of Love Cathedral Ministries Women’s Department under Pastor Joel L. Sims Sr.; and President of God First Ministries Nashville Chapter under Doctor Mildred Harris. She has served on the Missionary Licensing Board under Jurisdictional Supervisor Verna Bonner, Tennessee Eastern 2nd Jurisdiction. Through out the years God has opened many doors for Missionary Sims to work in his vineyard.

Elder Joel L. Sims Jr.

Elder Joel L. Sims, Jr. is the eldest son of four children, born to Pastor Joel & First Lady Karen Sims. He is a member of Love Cathedral Ministries located in Nashville, Tennessee. He is married to the lovely Chandra Edmonson Sims. From this union they have three sons – Erin, Justin, and Jacob. He is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University. He is employed by Tennessee State University in the role of Associate Director for Procurement and Business Services.

Elder Sims, Jr. has served in numerous capacities at his local church, district, jurisdiction and community. He has served as District Auxiliary Conference Chairperson, District Evangelist, and District Secretary of Finance. He has served as Ad-visor to The Tennessee State University Choir – The New Direction.
Elder Sims, Jr. served as the Jurisdictional Secretary to Bishop George O. Adebanjo in the Pakistan Jurisdiction – Church Of God In Christ, Inc.

Elder Sims, Jr. has a passion to pursue a spirit of excellence in his endeavors for God to encourage, motivate and equip others for Kingdom Building. He believes that there is a call for greater works and faithfulness to God as we spread the gospel to the nations.
